Charlotte Dunois -Bunny Style-
Another figure we’ll be looking today is from Charlotte Dunois -Bunny Style- from Infinite Stratos (IS). The 1/7 large scale PVC was produced by Kotobukiya in their 4-Leaves series. I normally am not a big fan of Kotobukiya products due to inconsistency in Quality, bad QC, and their poor choice of paint and materials. But IS was one of the anime that I really enjoyed. Even thou there wasn’t much of a story and it pretty much can be considered a Harem (後宮) anime..
The figure came pre-mounted on this dome base which has some hard orange fuzz.. but when I first took the figure out of the box, it was completely covered in this orange fuzz and it took a very long time to clean it all off.
Even thou Kotobukiya is famous for below average quality, they do have a few good sculptors who I believe is the only reason why their figures still sell. Her facial expression along with all loyalty to the original illustration was very well reproduced in 3D.
One of the highlights of this PVC was the use of real fishnet for her stocking…
The figure also comes with 4 optional bunnies and her IS necklace to replicate the original illustration 100%
This side bunny was mounted by magnet to avoid any hard-mounting points on the figure when the bunnies are not used.
The bottom two bunnies are free standing, but they don’t stay on too well due to the dome shape base..
The rear jumping bunny was mounted by hard-slotting into the side of the shoe, but because this figure is mainly only going to be displayed showing the front only, that slot was not too noticeable.
Here is the original illustration showing all 5 IS girls in bunny suits.. if they do decide to release them all, I believe I will end up collecting the whole set (-__-);;;;
As shown in the red circles, her arm and hand was covered in black spots which I had to use a magic cleaning sponge and some thinner to remove.. typical QC issues with Kotobukiya products.
from these mold lines also proves the limited quality of this figure.
The use of real fish-net was a nice touch, but if not put on properly, over clutter of folds can be seen like shown on this photo.
Another challenge from real fish-net is how the connecting seam. Even thou this was a 1/7 scaled figure, they sure didn’t do a very good job of keeping a straight and to scale back seam.
